Fabien Lelarge did his musical apprenticeship at the Conservatory of Chalon-sur-Saône. He continued studying musicology at the University of Burgundy (Dijon) and focused his work on jazz and the analysis of popular music. Saxophone teacher from the age of 16, he continued his career in music education (University of Burgundy, CRR Dijon, National Education, IUFM, music schools) then became a programmer and manager of Media Music (Dijon jazz club ). He teaches popular music and studio techniques at the University of Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée then specializes in educational engineering. He sets up educational projects for various musical education structures and currently directs L'ATELIER-école des arts de Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez.
Fabien Lelarge realizes several musical creations among which: musical creation for Tactile Territory by Steven Bernas (exhibition Intimacy / exhibition, Exposition Universelle, Beijing), impro / rework / remix of In C (Terry Riley) for the Why Note's Festival, pyromusical show of July 14, 2010 with Lacroix-Ruggierie for the City of Dijon etc.
After having founded many groups mixing jazz, funk and hip hop, his main formation Monsieur Charles began in 2000. With Didier Lécheneau (aka De Fontaine - Happy Music), they have fun confronting jazz and electro. Since their first album “Mission DeLuxe” (UCMG / Naïve) considered by the specialized press as the best of “Nu-Jazz”, the Burgundy duo has received various international awards and appears on numerous compilations. They work with artists like Mandel Turner (Playin '4 the City, Cerrone, Martin Solveig), Elektra Weston (Playin' 4 the City, PariSoul), Sébastien Llado (ONJ, Archie Shepp, DeLaSoul), Eric Seva (ONJ, Chris Rea), Big Band Chalon-Bourgogne etc.
As saxophonist, he provides the opening parts and shares the stages of Macéo Parker, Transglobal Underground, Bumcello, Steve Coleman, New Conception of Jazz, Julien Lourau Groove Gang, Omar Sosa, The Metrics, Laurent De Wilde, Magic Malik, Erik Truffaz, Arturo Sandoval, Dan Ghenacia, Djulz ...
