Denys Lable is a French guitarist born on 21 July 1947 in Auxerre. A discreet but major figure on the French music scene, he is renowned for his sensitive playing, inspired by blues, folk and American soul.
From the 1970s onwards, he became a sought-after studio musician, accompanying such greats as Julien Clerc, Serge Gainsbourg, Michel Jonasz, Françoise Hardy and Francis Cabrel (since Sarbacane in 1988), as well as France Gall and Michel Berger.
He has also led a solo career (albums Crystal Hotel, Archtop Électrique, Dédoublé), and founded the Autour du Blues project, bringing together the best French guitarists.
His style, influenced by Clapton and Steely Dan, is distinguished by a precise, warm and elegant sound.
