Philippe "Fifi" Chayeb is a French bassist and double bass player born in Nice. He started playing the piano at the age of 5 and the double bass at the age of 6 at the Nice Conservatoire. After 17 years of study, he moved to Paris in 1987 to begin a professional career. Nicknamed "Fifi", he stands out for his groove and the richness of his sound. He has performed with Mylène Farmer, Michel Legrand, Chris Rea, Diane Dufresne, Michel Jonasz, Francis Cabrel, Véronique Sanson, Claude Nougaro, Michel Sardou and Johnny Hallyday. In jazz and fusion, he has played with Larry Carlton, Billy Cobham, Didier Lockwood, Sylvain Luc, Bireli Lagrène, Richard Galliano and André Ceccarelli.
