Biography

Initially trained in viola in Les Sables d'Olonne, Jean-Eudes Boulay left the conservatory at the age of 13 to devote himself to guitar and singing. His passion for music and teaching led him to create his own home-based guitar school in 2008: "Guitare Gimmick School". He now teaches around sixty students every year.

His strength? Having tried every type of teaching during his training as a musician.

After a few years at the conservatory, he trained in guitar with a private teacher, then continued to teach himself for several years.

He plays regularly in bands (Daisies, JeanJean, Midnight Special, Jeudinho, Les P'tits Parisiens, Emmanuel Lesaint, etc.) as a singer, guitarist or bassist.

He then trained in Brazil at the BSB Musical school in Brasilia and then in Paris at the ATLA school, where he perfected his teaching skills. There, he took classes with Roberto Farias, Antoine Tatich, Jean-Christophe Hoarau, Renato Velasco, JB Boussarie, Laurent Colombani and Eric Gombart, among others. He also studied foreign languages at the same time. Today, he can sing in five languages!

His favourite artists? Jimi Hendrix, Antonio Carlos Jobim, The Beatles, Georges Brassens, Devendra Banhart, Serge Gainsbourg, and Jorge Ben Jor.
